Main Responsibilities
The National Sales Director's job has two main focuses:
Implementing the company's sales strategy in its geographical area. To do this, they follow a number of steps: firstly, they set sales targets for their teams, then they monitor actions in the field and ensure that sales targets are met. Finally, they monitor sales results and budgets for selling expenses.
At the same time, the Sales Director closely monitors developments in the market and the competition. He analyses the data and implements sales strategies based on the results. He is also in charge of negotiations with Key Account Managers for major contracts.
In terms of management, in this job the Director must lead, manage and supervise a company's sales team as well as the team in the field on a national scale in terms of motivation and mobilisation. They are also involved in recruiting their teams.
Finally, the National Sales Director is responsible for reporting regularly to management on results, difficulties and the next sales strategy to be implemented.
